Restoring Hope for Children Affected by War

It's a comprehensive prosthesis and rehabilitation project launched by Ukraine House under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. This transformative program is dedicated to helping children who have lost their limbs due to russian invasion of Ukraine to regain their ability to return back to their childhood.

How It Began

In April 2022, Ukraine House launched a project dedicated to supporting children who lost their limbs as a result of russian atrocities. Collaborating with the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the Office of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, we identified the first eligible family to be treated in the US.

Community Support

A Collaborative Effort

In partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, Ukraine House managed all administrative, financial, and logistical aspects, enabling families to come and children to commence their rehabilitation.

Progress and Success

During 2022-2023, four children and 1 adult have received their prostheses and have not only learned how to use them in everyday life, but also received a full range mental support from our partners at the Peter Harsch Prosthtetics and Shriners Children’s.
